In July we move the boat to the beautiful Victorian port city of Manistee Michigan. Big ornery adult king salmon roam these northern Michigan waters . Chinook and coho salmon stage off Lake Michigan rivers to complete the life cycle in Mid July. The annual spawning run usually finishes up around the end of September. There are plenty of  steelhead, brown trout and lake trout around all season, but if you are looking for a Michigan Master Angler Salmon in the 30 pound class, July thru September is the time to go. The Lake Michigan waters off Manistee produce more Master angler Salmon than any other Lake Michigan port.

While taking a stroll down River Street in Downtown Manistee you are sure to notice the collection of architectural jewels on every corner, the friendly merchants, and the beautiful Manistee River. These are only a few of the elements that make this such a special place.
