Sometime around  July 15, I move the boat to the beautiful Victorian port city of Manistee Michigan. We fish Manistee for the rest of the Salmon season. Big ornery King Salmon are the deal here. Chinook and Coho Salmon start to stage off their natal Lake Michigan rivers to complete their life cycle in Mid July, And the run usually finishes up around the end of September. There are plenty of  Steelhead , Brown Trout and Lake Trout around but if you are looking for a Michigan Master Angler Salmon in the 30 pound range this is the time to go.

Eat your Wheaties folks, It takes on average one and a half minutes per pound to land an adult King Salmon .
